Use this to register for the event in KAYA. All participants will be given 2 weeks of free KAYA PRO, enabling access to the bouldering guidebook by Aaron Schneider and Stella Mascari.

  • When registering on KAYA you will be prompted: “What is the hardest grade you can climb in 5 tries?” Your answer will determine what category—Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, or Open you are in.

Climb your hardest 5 problems within the 5-hour climbing window. Top 3 climbers in each category will receive prizes! Keep track of your attempts—this will be used to break ties.

This competition is HONOR BASED. Please keep it fun and only log sends you’ve actually completed.

    P.S. Don’t be a sandbagger—that’s no fun.

  • If you’ve never bouldered at the Lake before—be prepared, it’s MUDDY! Bring shoes you can wreck, and a towel to keep your climbing shoes clean. We will provide some tarps, but it is recommended to bring one to keep your pads and standing areas clean and dry.

The area gets a lot of sun and should be in the 40-50s. Dress appropriately and bring your usual chalk, brush, climbing shoes, and any other nik-naks you need for sending.

  • Summersville State Park has offered a special 50% discount to anyone wanting to take advantage of the extensive camping available on the premises.

  • HUGE thank you to Summersville State Park for allowing us to use their space. We couldn’t have created this event without our sponsors: KAYA, Organic Climbing, Madrock, Yumbel Cookies, FrictionLabs, Black Diamond, and PhysiVantage.

  • Sunday, March 15th will be the rain-date. We will make an announcement closer to the event if we need to postpone.

  • Email outreach@newriverclimbing.net with any additional questions! Thanks!
